Actually, after TEOTWAWKI, trade goods will be important. Since I don’t know how to make whiskey, I might want to trade you some….
That came up in “Lucifer’s Hammer” in a big way. And in “Alas Babylon” in a smaller way. (Where you gonna get coffee after a nuclear war?)
Trade stock ought to include pints and half pints, though.
One gentleman in the prepper community was stuck in a siege in Bosnia.
His two best trade items were disposable lighters and booze.
Frank: Yup. Pints of cheap Canadian Club in plastic bottles, and a couple of shelf-stocker boxes of bic lighters.
What kind of wine cooler do you have, Unc?
I have a Haier.
I don’t drink strong spirits, so I keep it full of Perrier, Pelligrino, Polar Waters and soft drinks.
The Meadowbrook Mansion Museum still has shelf after shelf of the former owner’s favorite whiskey.
He bought enough to last through Prohibition and beyond. I don’t think the particular brand is made any longer.
I am not much of a whiskey drinker these days, but looking at those shelves did make me a bit thirsty.
Wine and beer is a lot easier to make. One can even make wine from weeds out of the yard. Got some dandelion aging now.
Chris, no idea on the brand name
Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
