I notice a distinct lack of race hustlers

But the cops shot John Crawford for seemingly no reason:

Ronald Ritchie should be in jail. And the cop should have done a better job. That shooting was instant. No way he could have complied with an order.

The time-lapse makes it look like he was “waving it around”, but in truth he was just standing there and occasionally fidgeting. Like everyone does.

Next thing you know, he been shot. He’s dying. No cops standing there giving him a chance before hand. He didn’t turn to look at anyone; he didn’t even see any police.

He’s just standing there, and they kill him.

It’s like a bad SouthPark cartoon we all laugh at, except this time its real and not funny.

Yep. Exactly what I commented when you first posted the story, that it sounded like someone intentionally called the cops on who he thought might be an open carrier to try and get him shot by the police.

To me it seems like Murder by cop. The man called 911, gave false information, then the police killed an innocent man, because of the first man’s actions.

Did the police break policy and protocol? More than likely. Do i blame them for the end result? No. The 911 caller should face full murder charges, and send a message to anyone who would try murder by cop, that they will pay for it.

The only way the police don’t share most of the responsibility is if you consider to be nothing more than animals operating on base instinct and not much more…which, given their actions, isn’t a hard conclusion to reach, but they are technically still human. They could have made the decision to NOT fire their weapons, to not act as executioners and to give the man at least some chance to surrender. They ultimately made the decision to take the man’s life.

I checked with the wife, who is a dispatcher for the local SO. She says she would not have rolled units here in this manner with a single call. It takes confirmation for her dept to go all “active shooter” mode. It sounds like this dispatcher sent her units and painted an active shooter picture for them, so as soon as they saw a dude with a “rifle” they fired. Wife says for stuff like this she would use words like “possibly armed” on the radio, until confirmation was received. This person likely said armed, pointing weapon, etc which put the responding officers into see-weapon-and-shoot mode.

And while I agree that the caller is morally responsible for crawfords murder, he can’t be charged with such, unfortunately.

    Detestable.

MSNBC did report on it last night and were beginning to race hustle it while celebrating that the DOJ was looking into it since the locals decided not to prosecute. We’ll see what happens and if the hustlers will prove useful this time.

If they do push this into the news, perhaps it will shine some light on the eagerness of gun controllers to SWAT open carriers.

While Mike is right that the caller can’t be charged with murder, they should throw the book at him for everything that they might get a conviction on. The family may also be able to go after him for wrongful death–provided he has any assets worth taking.

It may also behoove us to consider strong anti-SWATing laws, and strengthening perjury laws as well, so that a willful liar can be punished to the extent of any harm they caused. Someone locked away for 20 years on testimony you can be proved to have known was false–20 years. SWATed someone and got them killed, eligible for death penalty.

This is a clear case of ‘shoot first and ask questions later.’

    That and nothing more.

It was like saying, “FREEZE.. BLAM!” All in one breath.

  8. RCCJr Says:

That’s how they train. Watch just about any training video, you can see them build into muscle memory the, “FREEZE..BLAM!” reflex.

I still say that no one is properly screening these guys before they’re turned out, heavily armed, to inflict mayhem. Most of them are more suited to McDonalds or carwash type duties.

Gee whenever I walk into a walMart I never get antsy when someone is flinging a gun around. My wife loves it and so do the kiddies. Its like a Marine tatoo.

Are you people nuts. If any of you had seen this and been there you’d have been tearing ass out of there and screaming for the police.

This kid must have been sort of a six pack. This is not normal behavior.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
