OC gives people a choice, and makes it harder to prosecute people for “brandishing” when all they do is inadvertently reveal a normally-concealed firearm.
Abbot will be the first governor of Texas, maybe the first anywhere, to use a Browning .50 Cal Ma Duece as his open-carry weapon, mounted all tactical style to his wheels.
Any Texans here, what does the Texas Constitution DECLARE re: the people’s RKBA? Here in TN our governor promised Tennessee Firearms Association that he would sign “Constitutional Carry” which is precisely pursuant to the Tennessee Constitution Declarstion of Rights, but DID NOT after election. THAT is THE problem with most Governors and Legilators!
Sec. 23. RIGHT TO KEEP AND BEAR ARMS. Every citizen shall have the right to keep and bear arms in the lawful defense of himself or the State; but the Legislature shall have power, by law, to regulate the wearing of arms, with a view to prevent crime.
In practice, just about everything was illegal to carry until about 20 years ago, because of very restrictive laws dating back to Reconstruction. Knives, too.

Well, I’m not real bubbly with OC, but some states that have it seem to have no problems.
