Defense of the Taurus Curve
It was pretty soundly trashed when released. But Kevin thinks it’s not bad.

It’s not a gun for me, nor would I recommend that anyone get one, but I think Taurus will sell a metric buttload of them.

Taurus, a marketing department of true genius surrounded by a mediocre firearms company.

Well, bear in mind that if it sells well, other more reliable gun makers will copy it.
You will be able to buy the Ruger, Springfield, or S&W version of it in a couple of years. Each of them will claim theirs is a game-changer.

HL, I seriously doubt it.
I think mikee is on to something. If this thing is still in their catalog in 2 years I would be absolutely shocked.

It’s a sightless handgun entirely dependent on awkwardly activated electronic sighting aids for accuracy, curved so it is only going to be worthwhile for right handed shooters, in a market filled with proven guns that are highly concealable, and it’s made by the manufacturer with the most questionable quality record of all the major makers.
Yeah, five points for thinking outside the box. Minus a million for still not thinking it all the way through. Yes, there’s always room for another decent design. The Curve ain’t that.
I’m sure it will sell, but as that article points out, of the 14% of instances where shots are fired in a defensive encounter, 57% of those instances (8% of the total studied) had bullets actually impacting on the assailant. The Curve looks to me like it’s made for the other 43% of “shots fired” cases where the bullets just went off into the wild blue yonder. That’s not a gun with which I’d want to arm myself or anybody I care about.

So 86% of the time I would be good to go with a duded up Airsoft?
