Kids and BB guns
Apparently, it’s an NRA conspiracy to make sure kids learn gun safety. Or something. Also, in Michigan, you can’t possess a BB gun if you’re under 18?

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.

Under current Michigan firearms laws, many BB guns and pellet guns are designated as firearms, thus the limitation on those under 18. There is current legislation working its way through both houses of the state legislature to remove air guns from under the firearm designation and label items as firearms as those propelled by fire, combustible gas, explosion, etc. Check NRA-ILA website under state legislation for info.
Michigan is slowly peeling away some of the long standing restrictions on firearms ownership and use. Use of suppressors was allowed after an Attorney General ruling a few years back. We were close to removing the permit to purchase handguns requirement and registration of same in the Fall of 2012 when the Newtown, CT tragedy occurred and the momentum was stopped in its tracks politically. Hopefully, the effort can rise again.

Nobody mention the air guns carried on the Lewis and Clark expedition until this is all ironed out, OK?
