Lived in that area for many years before moving to TX. The harassment is no surprise. The only surprise here, to me at least, is that she actually won!
.
I’m glad she was compensated for being wrongfully prosecuted. But this does nothing to curb the Sheriff’s (or his department’s) behavior. It doesn’t come out of his paycheck and probably not his operating budget. And he definitely wouldn’t lose his job over it.
I saw some comments about ‘letting NYCers get what they deserve’
This is a disturbing thing to read from people who are supposed to be our allies.
Living in suffolk county, on Long Island, and coming from a gun range means you should probably gather that this person is one of the many hostages of NYC here in New York State.
These LEO’s were probably just following their Fed/DHS training materials which profile Constitutionslists, gunowmers, liberty proponents as prime “terror suspects”.
Good point, KM. My question after 9-11 was how did the hi-jackers get here and stay? Then our government never named an enemy and either CONSTITUTIONALLY declared war or ” a letter of marque and reprisal”, never closed our borders and never stopped immigration from Islamic countries. So you’re right, many so-called conservatives don’t demand that our Constitution be CONSERVED when it comes to foreign policy, so why complain when it’s violated here against us!
NYP: A woman “armed to the teeth” with ONE rifle, LEGALLY OWNED, on her way FROM a range (read: low on, or actually out of, ammunition) is detained on a STATE-RUN military facility by a COUNTY sheriff (How, pray tell, did this vicious terrorist gain access to such a sensitive military post in the first place?)
The crime? Photographing a patriotic display?
More and more, as I grow long in the tooth, I find myself in sympathy with the tortoise. I think we should put an airtight seal on the borders, so neither terrorist nor diseased plebian may enter without permission, and our military should keep its own counsel. The world should take little notice of us, but anyone with an idea to invade should find himself at the focus of fire and brimstone, as never before imagined. All of this diversity and internationalism are doing us no good.

Ron,
I wonder how many of those people in the groups you mentioned would support/do support “Enhanced Interrogation Techniques” on ‘terror suspects’?

God help the LEO if he ever does pull over an actual terrorist Tea Bagger.
