Use a holster
Two injured when gun falls out of fanny pack. I doubt that it went off from hitting the ground. I guess someone tried to catch it. Don’t do that.

There’s so many questions.
According to the story:
“Apparently when the gun fell out of the bag and onto the floor, it fell in such a way that the barrel hit the floor and somehow the gun went off, leaving the casing and round in the barrel of the gun,” the criminal complaint stated.
also:
“The bullet hit the floor and pieces of what appeared to be ceramic tile from the floor hit two people…”
So, the bullet hit the ground, but never left the barrel?
Curious as to what kind of gun it was–Bryco-Jennings-Raven, etc? .25 ACP? Whatever it was, if the story is accurate (big assumption) it didn’t cycle, and the bullet failed to even clear the end of the barrel.

I believe some older (not drop safe) autos would fire when dropped hard on their muzzle.
That’s the only thing I could come up with that would fit the info in the article. Reality probably falls somewhere between that and the fever dreams of a half spoiled cabbage.
