This is absolute garbage. The DSM is a guide, not a bible. It recognizes that yes, you can do pretty much anything to excess at which is causes problems in your life and would need treatment. Overeating, oversleeping, overgaming, etc.
Psychiatry does not work that way. The VA does not work that way. I am a psychologist who consults regularly at a VA in the PTSD and CDC (chemical dependency programs) clinics and can solidly assert that this writer has no clue what he’s talking about. It’s fearmongering BS of the worst kind.
