I’ve owned my beloved M1911A1 since 1971. The only failures I’ve had with it concerned marginal quality ammunition. The 1911 is easier to disassemble/assemble than my Glock 19 and more pleasant to shoot.
As always, find a firearm you like and become expert with it. Use quality ammunition and don’t pimp it up with unnecessary bling. This applies to any weapons system.
