Great point. Snobbery oft blinds to the fact that “good enough” is subjective.
I recently sold off a bunch of handguns to buy different ones as the wife wanted an M&P and I decided to parallel her choice with a Glock for a Limited minor gun. So my carry gun is now a G19.
But I hung onto a Kahr CW9 as a spare carry under the theory that it didn’t hurt to have a spare inexpensive gun for us or to arm a friend in an emergency.
IF one’s Firearm of Choice is reliable AND actually delivers a Bullet that will stop Goblins from hurting one’self and other Innocents, then who cares if it is Cheap.
Keep this in Mind: Three Glocks for $1,500 DISPERSED to an “Undisclosed Location” are better deal than a Wilson Combat 1911 that has been Confiscated if one has to shoot a Goblin.
In other words, if your Firearm of Choice is at the Police Station locked up in the Evidence Room, kinda hard to protect yourself if the Goblin’s Buddies come after you for DARING to shoot him. But if one get’s their Spare out of Storage….
I still have a Llama 1911 I bought when I was po. It’s so sloppy if I fire it wrong handed, as I do by default, I usually can’t get through a mag without my trigger finger catching the slide lock on recoil. I have some good ones since then, but the malf clearing exercise I got from that thing sharpened me up a bit.

I collect (okay, used to collect) nice handguns that I still occasionally shoot.
But I carry a couple of Taurus snubbies and a Glock 31.
I don’t want to ever have to use any of them, but I have complete confidence in my ability to protect my wife, my other family members and myself.

Any gun beats no gun.
(Just like “the tiny gun you have on you beats the Real Gun you left at home”.)
