Quote of the day
Tam:
It was within my lifetime (albeit barely) that you could order an actual 20mm anti-tank rifle in the mail with less drama than buying a packet of Sudafed today.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.

CVS no longer sells Sudafed. Unbelievable.
How long before potatoes are regulated out of existence because someone may use them to get fat?

The post on Tam’s blog includes a photo of the Joker from “The Dark Knight” with the caption – “Not sure if serious …”.
Maybe this was intentional, but the person the Joker is looking at in the photo from the film, is played by Vermont Senator Patrick Leahy, generally a gun-control proponent. Just makes her post that much more perfect.

This is why you’ll see a ramped-up effort to dispose of, or otherwise marginalize, anyone born before around 1965-1970. They can actually sort of remember what freedom tasted like, and THAT is dangerous. Those born in the 50s or before (who are not zombies, on prescription or other drugs) are special threats, and those of any age who understand American history and embrace the principles are the worst of all.

HL,
My CVS sells sudadfed. Is it the state doing that? We have to show ID and sign electronically.
Very silly since meth has increased in purity and the price has dropped since they restricted sudafed.

Rich,
Happy coincidence. 🙂

Hey Cargosquid,
It isn’t a law…Walgreen’s still sells it (you have to get the anal probe, of course), but local CVS’s have made it policy not to stock it anymore.

The reason that meth is getting purer is they are banning things that were actually taking hard work to break into precursor chemicals.
The stuff that’s still available is harder to break than just making the precursor the old fashioned way.
Gotta love the law sometimes…

This makes me sad… 🙁 Too young to enjoy all those awesome deals.

Gotta leave a dick print to get pseudoephedrine if your nose is all snotty, but it’s easier make it from good meth.

Lyle, thanks for labeling me as a “special treats”…born in ’51 and no prescription drugs, no zombie and an American Revolutionary.

Early ’80’s, Pony Express Sport Shop in Van Nuys had one of those 20mm on skis for sale. Can’t remember the price for the life of me.

1960 – Ye Olde Hunters’ Lodge… Finnish Lahti 20mm cannon complete in the original “coffin” crate – $99.95(plus shipping.
Swiss 20mm Solothern $189.95. The Solothern was a much more elegant gun. Ammo for either was 10 rounds for $9.95.
I had the money for either or both. My problem was I was 16 years old and could figure how I was going to smuggle an eight-foot coffin-shaped crate into the garage without the Old Man asking questions.
I found their old catalog a few years ago… it is to cry.
