Do not try to catch a dropped gun

Absolutely right.
My Navy Reserve Unit lost a guy to a gunshot to his chest when he tried to catch his gun when he fumbled it when transferring to his weak hand.
FOUR EMT’s were on the range with him, along with the Corpsman….couldn’t save him
Don’t try. Let it drop.
I have a reflex to get my foot under things I’ve dropped, to break the fall. Somehow I doubt I’ll get my foot to fit in the trigger guard of anything I have. Saves damage, anyway.
Same rule for knives. Not even my foot for a knife; it can be re-sharpened.
Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
