Democrats to Obama: Go ahead with bullet ban
Congressional Democrats are pressuring the Obama administration to move ahead “swiftly” with a proposal that would ban a form of armor-piercing ammunition.
In a draft letter first obtained by The Hill, Democrats are urging the director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) to use his “existing authority” to keep “dangerous ammunition out of our communities.”
“We hope that the Bureau will swiftly review comments on the proposed framework and issue a revised proposal that will address the danger posed by handguns that fire 5.56mm and other rifle ammunition,” Democrats write in the letter.

As if anyone wit a lathe couldn’t make solid, mild steel bullets.
No; the bad guys will always have this sort of thing. The leftists fear the good guys.

What I found interesting is how they “reported” 53 Repubs were against it but only “Democrats” with three names… SO…. how many Democrats are really for this and how come the story doesn’t give a conting?
And the other thing… IF this is such a trheat – this “new” technology (like it’s reported in story)… what are the stats? How many cops have been shot with this & how many hurt or dead because of it?
These numbers are readly available from DOJ stats, right?

Dems need to keep pushing as hard as they can.
The ATF did not back down because of our letters. They backed down because our complaints were heard by the establishment GOP. Once we got their attention, it was clear that ATF was risking the loss of all regulatory abilities, ala EPA and their lead bullet ban.
And sure enough, we now have bills. One would ban common AR rounds, and the other would strike the from the ATF the ability to regulate nearly all common ammunition. Guess which one is moving forward?
The administration backed off because we pushed the establishment GOP into possible action. We need to keep pushing them – on ammo and reciprocity – while we have momentum.
You don’t stop driving the ball just because you are close to the goal line. You push harder.

keep “dangerous ammunition out of our communities.”
Hmmm… I’ve always thought that bullets were supposed to be dangerous to the target.
Is there such a thing as a UN-dangerous bullet?
