ATF lies about AR-15
Well, they have an agenda and all but you’d think they’d know about the firearms they’re in charge of regulating.

As I posted over there, I don’t think they’re wrong about that, for once.
The “AR platform”, as it exists in the civilian market – which is the only sane context for the statement – is very much “the semi-automatic version of the M16”.
The AR-15 started out select-fire, in the Armalite prototypes submitted to the Army for testing, and remained so throughout the process.
It was adopted as the M16 the same year Colt’s started selling the semi-auto SP-1, after years of pre-adoption testing and deployment.

“…originally designed for and used by the military.”
Yes, I believe that is true, meaning it is a militia type weapon, which makes its manufacture, distribution, sale, ownership and possession absolutely and positively protected under the second amendment.
Careful what we argue.
