What’s funny is Joe’s Crab Shack. They swore to me they would post (“The sign is in a box in the back, we just haven’t put it up yet”), but here we 5(?) years later and still no sign.

I point out that those signs with the red circle with the line through it; they depict a semi auto pistol. Presumably then, someone carrying a revolver would be perfectly welcome.

And in Tennessee, ignoring the sign would earn you a misdemeanor. Revolver or not.

Wanna bet that due to the prohibition against drinking while carrying, some of these tavern owners think they must put the sign up? Either as a warning to their customers or like the “Must be 21” sign?

None of this would have happened if the Crime Prevention Research Center (CPRC) had just not bothered to ask. By asking they seem to have prompted several places to take action that was not even being considered before they brought up the subject.
As for places witout signage but halfway through your meal tell you that your gun is not welcome – get up, leave a tip for the server, and explain that since you were not allowed to finish your meal you will not be paying for the portion that you have consumed. Don’t let the place revise its policy on the spot. They have asked (told) you to leave and failing to do so is a crime.
As for the place that comes to you halfway through your meal and says they are willing to let you stay and finish but will not allow you to bring your gun the next time you come? Ask them to box up what’s left, tip the server and pay the bill . Let them know you will be letting all your friends know they will also not be welcome there.
No need to be dramatic about this. No need for any other patron to hear your yelling that the place is “infringing your 2A rights” (which it is not). Just let management know that you are more than willing to comply with their request (demand) that you leave.
stay safe.
