See if you can hunt down a Maryland carry permit. The rarity of those make an Illinois permit seem populous by comparison.

These aren’t so rare. I got mine!

  3. Acme_Rocket Says:

Illinois wouldn’t even let the ID last as long as the FOID?!?! 2019 expiration? Talk about nickel and diming your residents.

I suppose it is better than the alternative.

  4. Joel Says:

I assume this person doesn’t live anywhere near Chicago?

  5. KM Says:

Now that’s one thing I thought I would NEVER see in my lifetime.

  6. SD3 Says:

    Fake.

  7. Matt Says:

not that rate guys and gals. There are 100k of us as of March this year.

At least they’re issuing them. I live in San Diego, to say our Sheriff is unfriendly to gun rights is an understatement. I’m sure many folks are familiar with the recent Peruta v. San Diego… our Sheriff, Bill Gore was the reason that happened in the first place. This is a silly question, but remember Ruby Ridge? Bill Gore was the Bureau chief of the Seattle office… the office which took the lead during the standoff. Hell, I’m actually considering a move to Illinois… it is Shall-Issue, they don’t have state-wide magazine capacity restrictions or an AWB. They’re a hell of a lot freer than we are in CA, and especially in San Diego County.

  9. SD3 Says:

That’s a pretty sad commentary, Matt. It’ a ‘perfect storm’ there in California. Reagan would think he was on the wrong planet.

  10. Mike Says:

I live in the Chicago area (although not in the city nor in Cook County) and I have a CCL. Sadly I was traveling for business and wasn’t able to get to the NRA Annual Meeting.

What we’re seeing is that Cook County residents with any sort of record of negative police interaction are meeting with law enforcement objections. These objections are overturned by the review board more often than not, resulting in CCL issuance. Outside of Cook County the law enforcement objection is rare. As you would expect, the sorts of people law enforcement would object to are already disqualified by statute.

  11. Cocked Says:

    Fuck Illinois!

They accept but do not grant other state’s recipocrity!

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
