Press check

Well, do you? Some times. But with the M&P, there’s no need.

  1. mariner Says:

    No.

My self-defense firearm always has a live round in the chamber, unless I’m at the range, or cleaning it.

    “Stop touching it!”

  2. Weer'd Beard Says:

Every time I take possession of it…even when simply changing clothes where the gun is in my sight the whole time.

  3. Adam Says:

I carry an LC9 with a trigger kit and night sights. The MA compliant model has a physical loaded chamber indicator. I do check it to make sure its up and I do tug on the mag, but no press checking necessary here.

  4. Gerry Says:

Carry Guns, usually but not always because they are not unloaded.
Gamer Guns, always press check after loading.

  5. pdb Says:

    I don’t trust a safety, and I don’t trust a gadget. I gotta see.

  6. Critter Says:

I open the revolver cylinder. Same thing?

  7. M Gallo Says:

I touch the round since I make ready in the dark.

  8. mikee Says:

Loaded chamber indicator (the extractor) on my Glock is adequate to convince me the gun is still loaded.

  9. Jim Says:

BANG! Uh, yeah, there was one in there.

  10. KM Says:

Press check all you want. There is NO POSSIBLE WAY it can or will result in bullet setback.

I do it only rarely and usually only when I’m handling multiple guns one after the other on the range.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
