Ditch Facebook and come to Google Plus. Much better sharing options, fewer trolls, better privacy controls, and you can set up your own Says Uncle community.

Oh yeah, they did it to me months ago. And when I tried to cancel my account, they asked me for my birthdate. Then they said that wasn’t my birthdate. So now I can not use nor lose the account (posting under a fictitious name) but I foolishly give them my phone number. So I get these phone notices from people who want to ‘like’ me. As if I care, but it’s a pain in the ass answering the phone at all hours of the day.
I lost my cell phone Wednesday. Not in a hurry to replace it. I’ve got a lot of sleep lately!

And as far as Google+ goes, I’d say heathcare.gov would be less malicious with your data.

Facebook only targets conservative posters and pages with the demand for personal identity information. If you post socialist nonsense, they would leave you alone.
