To have enough thrust to keep a person lofted (including the mass of the fuel/battery/whatever)…. one severely wonders how long it can run on a single tank/charge ect.
MagLev is not new. A MagLev skateboard is. It’ll need a special, high tech track too or it’s worthless. Notice it had cryogenic cooling too.
I note that the video ended right where it would have started, i.e. they’re not comfortable enough to actually show it to us. We saw a board supporting its own weight only, and only while it had liquid nitrogen or whatever that was boiling out of it. Big woof.
It’s like all those flying car promotions, giving all kinds of specs like you’d see for a certified, proven aircraft. They’ll even sell you one. Only problem is they’ve never actually flown without a tether. It’s all fantasy and hope for what they might be able to do in the future but can’t do now.

It would need to be ridden over magnets. Otherwise it’s a PR stunt.

What Sebastian said. Have you seen anti-gravity with a magnet and a copper pipe? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5BeFoz3Ypo4

In defense, Orville and Wilbur’s plane wasn’t exactly impressive either.
Give it time, guys. Technology marches on.
