I recall during the Carter years when the Director of the CIA was being questioned before a Congressional committee about assassinations. The committee tried very hard to get the Director to pick up and examine a poison dart gun, an effort which he resisted successfully.
The front page photo on the front page of the NYT and WaPost the next day was NOT the US CIA director holding an assassin’s tool.
Why are poison darts guns considered so glamorous? The Russians used radioactive pellets delivered by umbrella tip to kill people, yet umbrellas have no similar cachet. Except in The Avengers, and that Kingsman movie.

The pistol might not but the light and dot scope would surely set one off.
