Keeping track of multi calibers
From Oleg. Personally, I deal with the headache by just using the same 3 calibers.

I just use green electrical tape to mark dedicated 300 Blackout mags. Also, 5.56 and 300 Blackout rifles (and ammo) are never out of their rifle cases at the same time.

Tokarev, AKM, Mosin … I guess I only shoot one caliber

I handle my multiple caliber ammunition issues by being too poor to buy ammo at the currently inflated prices.
I’m still using .22LR, 9mm, .38SPL & .357Mag purchased before the Obama era. But I don’t shoot that much.
And Mosin ammo – I have half my original sardine can of Hungarian milsurp corrosive 7.62×54, unused, and find that 5 to 10 rounds every few months is sufficient to keep me amused at the fireballs it makes.

It hasn’t been much of a problem so far at Schloss Alien – 7.62X51 mags don’t fit STANAG receivers, or vice versa. But, there’s now a limited 300BLK experiment in the mix, and I’ve been wrestling with quick and dirty differentiation methods. A ring of bright spray paint works in photon-rich environments, but so far I haven’t come up with a suitable tactile addition to that for Adventures in the Dark. Epoxying a 1/4 inch square plastic rod to each side of dedicated Magpul BLK magazines might work, but it creates other problems, and doesn’t help with potential mixup of individual rounds.

I have enough to deal with in keeping track of different loads within the same caliber. Especially in the Obama era when there were times when you could never buy the same load in the same caliber more than once. You had to take what was available.

Dear Uncle,
I only have to deal with two calibers, 7.62X39 for the SKS and .357 for the revolver. Both are reliable, inexpensive, and don’t take a lot of equipment to work depending me and the family like ARs and pistols.
Sincerely, SYK
P.S.
Then I can use the savings to purchase water storage containers and food storage.
