Embrace the derp
Tam: I know I’ve occasionally gone back and looked at my old stuff with a new eye, and been a bit surprised.
Yup. At some point or another, I’ve:
Carried a Glock with a Clipdraw.
Had an AR with a scope mounted on a carry handle.
Tricked out a WASR. All it needed was the Ultimak rail. Everything else was derpy.
Had an AR in 9mm. I had a good reason: Indoor range.
And I learned from it all.

Nothin’ wrong with a 9mm AR platform if it has an integral suppressor, heh, heh, heh.

Where else are going to put a scope on an M16A2 or equivalent AR?

yeah, what emdfl said. I love my 9mm suppressed sbr. super quiet with 158 grains and LOADS of fun to shoot!

Oddly enough, I learned a lot about shooting from a Savage Youth Model single shot .22LR rifle.
I bought it for the princely sum of $65 on a Walmart clearance sale, as my kids’ first rifle for shooting instruction.
Despite the short stock, it was the most accurate rifle I’d owned up to that point, with the best trigger.
I even let the kids shoot it once in a while.

not to dogpile on here, but I also don’t regard the 9mm AR as being particularly derpy. Indoor range use is a perfectly good excuse, beyond the fact that it’s cheaper to feed and fun to shoot.
