Gettin’ wiggy with it
Those that saw me at the NRA convention noticed and made fun of my long hair. But, I had a plan. I was donating it to Pantene’s Beautiful Lengths, which makes wigs for cancer patients. So, here I am before the festivities (with some help from Junior):
During:
And the final result.
Junior is also going to donate but she wants to have long hair after, so she’s growing it a bit longer. I told her I’d race her.

From a young Sam Elliot to a nerdy Beckham in 60 seconds!
For a good cause though; my 13 y.o. granddaughter harvested her beautiful silky blonde mane for the cause last month. I’d do it too, but apparently the sparse q-tip look is not in high demand even among the big C crowd.

I’ve intentionally grown my hair long, but for a different reason. When the balloon goes up (and it might happen soon) you can cut your hair short if it pays to be associated with The Man, but you can’t suddenly grow it long.
Also, it makes it a lot more fun to listen to David Allen Coe’s Long Haired Redneck.

As a member of the follicular-ly challenged class (mostly bald), I envy you.
I also respect and thank you for the donation.

I thought you were getting into Civil War Re-enactments.

Well done! I’m just about due for doing that again myself.

Good on y’all! I used to donate mine to Locks of Love, a similar program. Can’t any more since it mostly grew back gray post chemo.
Cancer wasn’t fun, even though I had a fairly easy (by comparison to most others) time with it. Anything you can do to make it easier for those folks is good work, IMO.
