Quote of the day

Hillary Clinton:

Look I dont believe you change hearts. I believe you change laws, you change allocation of resources, you change the way systems operate.

And that’s not even all of the stupid that she said. She will legislate you to comply.

    Translation;
“I don’t believe in liberty. I believe in brute force.”

That much we knew already, but I suppose some people need reminding. Thank you, Hillary, for making it crystal clear in your own words.

  2. MrSatyre Says:

Every time a Progressive Liberal opens his/her mouth, all I hear is the repetition of a complete absence of rational thought. Even if the world we lived in was the one of her sick, twisted immoral fantasies, the inherent contradiction that lies in that statement “I don’t believe you change hearts. I believe you change laws” is breathtaking. Why would her imaginary bad guys (you and me, apparently) stop murdering black people simply because of a few (or a lot) of new laws? It’s like in her mind, it’s entirely possible to have a criminal who is both violently dangerous and law-abiding enough to cease and desist when confronted with a new law.

That sounds so Alinsky she might owe his estate a royalty.

What is not required, is forbidden.

Uh didn’t she have a change of heart about gay marriage? How is she gonna try to spin that…

  6. comatus Says:

That’s easy; the Kasich angle: “It’s the law of the land.” Until, you know, it’s not.

Of course you can change hearts. Just not without a gaping chest wound.

This is really the “kinder, gentler” prog attitude. Serious Brave New Worlders aren’t happy (and believe me, they’re Not Happy) unless they have wiped out that evil thought from your mind, and left a happy face there. It’s done with pills mostly, and primary education.

  7. JTC Says:

What was it Major Caudill* said?

“Human beings only have two ways to deal with one another: reason and force. If you want me to do something for you, you have a choice of either convincing me via argument, or force me to do your bidding under threat of force. Every human interaction falls into one of those two categories, without exception. Reason or force, that’s it.

In a truly moral and civilized society, people exclusively interact through persuasion. Force has no place as a valid method of social interaction, and the only thing that removes force from the menu is the personal firearm, as paradoxical as it may sound to some.

When I carry a gun, you cannot deal with me by force. You have to use reason and try to persuade me, because I have a way to negate your threat or employment of force.”

Wonder if hillzabeast has read that? Maybe, maybe not, but you can bet your ass she knows the gist and what it means. And you can double down on that bet that a president Clinton v.2 will go after your guns with a lot more fervor -and force- than v.1 or the zero, to ensure that her little manifesto here can be enforced”.

*Think proper credit is being given to the immigrant that actally penned it instead of the mythical major? Not so much…google up major caudill why the gun” and see.

Tyrant, Hillary, despot, twatwaffle…all the same thing.

  10. Bubblehead Les Says:

Legislate? Heck, she’d be signing off Executive Orders while she’s being Sworn In!

  11. Jake Says:

“She will legislate you to comply.”

    Compliance will be rewarded.

  12. Sigivald Says:

Here’s the full quote, broken up the way you’d format it if it was written language:

Look I don’t believe you change hearts.

I believe you change laws, you change allocation of resources, you change the way systems operate. You’re not going to change every heart. You’re not.

But at the end of the day, we could do a whole lot to change some hearts and change some systems and create more opportunities for people who deserve to have them, to [list of stuff].

So we can do it one of many ways. You can keep the movement going, which you have started, and through it you may actually change some hearts.

But if that’s all that happens, we’ll be back here in 10 years having the same conversation. We will not have all of the changes that you deserve to see happen in your lifetime because of your willingness to get out there and talk about this.

Sure seems to me she’s saying something much more anodyne than implied.

The “resources” she’s talking about seem to be “government resources”, which is to say “law enforcement and spending priorities”.

She’s talking to people who think “the MAN has it in for black kids and murders them all the time”; that it’s not really correct as they believe it doesn’t change much.

And what does she tell them? “Well, to change the way the MAN works, you change laws and have the State do different things, and change how The System works, not just yell at people or get them to think your story is sad”.

    She’s right.

She’s probably feeding them a line of bull, but it’s not a line of bull about “legislating our compliance”; it’s a line of bull about “changing laws to not single out black kids”.

(Again, they mostly really don’t, which is why it’s a line of bull.

But she’s not selling the line of bull people seem to want to think she is, not on any plausible reading of the quote in its context.

And the “allocation of resources”? Not, as the Instapundit post on this implied, “communist redistribution of wealth from the middle class to poor black people”, but the allocation of existing government resources – police time and state money – in a way more pleasing to the activists. Hell, that might actually be a good idea in some cases.

Systems? Yeah, that’s just the first two points combined – laws and State resources make “the System”.

Seriously, this mountain is a molehill; she’s said stupider and more inflammatory things before breakfast, and this is what people are going on about?)

  13. Sigivald Says:

(And if you read the quote carefully, she’s also suggesting that “keeping the [BLM} movement going” will not have any real effect.

So she’s in agreement with pretty much everyone here that the “movement” is ineffective.)

  14. Tirno Says:

Don’t lawyers normally tell people to shut up about whatever it is they are being investigated or prosecuted for?

At this point, I’m hoping Hillary gets the party nomination. After that, look forward to months of informative campaign ads that are simply mash ups of what Hillary said on camera, and other people directly refuting her statements and pointing out what the law says, i.e. “It is a felony to…”

Stinger: “Hillary didn’t care what the law was. She didn’t care about her legal obligations. She didn’t care about how she compromised national security. Foreign intelligence services almost certainly have an in-depth, behind-the-scenes view on how she operates on all levels. Where does she belong: Oval office, or Cell Block H?”

  15. nk Says:

It’s surely true about her and her husband. They’re conscienceless psychopaths. Nothing short of prison will stop them. And even then, they’ll be the sleaziest on the cellblock.

  16. Matthew Carberry Says:

Sigivald, Your take is the same as mine. She was politely saying “look idiot, if you want change -you- need to come up with concrete ideas that can be weighed, measured and decided on. You’ve passed the point of “raising awareness” and are now actively harming your still only vaguely defined ’cause’.”

  17. JK Brown Says:

I have an old quote to answer that:

Christianity, as a late writer has pointed out in words well chosen,* is the only system of socialism which commends it self as having a rational basis, and its founder the most practical teacher of it that the world has ever seen. ” The aim of all socialism is the securing of equality in the social condition of mankind, and if equality is to be secured at all it will be secured only by changing the hearts of men, and never by setting to work, in the first instance, upon the conditions.” But the present impulse of socialism is not Christian, but rather one willing to put an end to Christianity. And it is a system of machinery, like the kingdom of a tyrant, not of souls, like that of Christ. Now the Christian system did not rest on force at all. It was communistic, but not socialistic, as the word is properly used; for its very essence was the freedom of the individual will.

    * Socialism and Legislation, Westminster Review, January, 1886.

  18. Huck Says:

“create more opportunities for people who deserve to have them,”

In other words; To take from those of us who work for a living and give what we worked for/earned to the lazy and worthless. To scum like that old crone the “people who deserve to have them” are the lib-vermin and we who earned it are NOT deserving.

That hag truly did get dain bramage when she bonked her head.

  19. JTC Says:

“…if you read the quote carefully…”

Parsing the Beast’s quotes for “good” interpretation is like parsing the Bible’s red quotes for bad.

It ain’t there, but you can tell yourself and others too dumb to know better that it is…depending on what your interpretation of the word “is” is.

  20. Ron W Says:

Why “change laws” if you don’t obey obey or enforce current laws? As Sec of St or Prez her DUTY as our EMPLOYEE would be to OBEY AND ENFORCE current laws. She is making it obvious now that she is DISQUALIFIED for the job!!!

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
