In the first 1000 rounds fired through it, my Glock 19 had only one failure – a stovepiped case – and that happened in the middle of the first magazine my 9 year old daughter shot through it. Limp grip, most likely.
We reviewed her grip and trigger pull, and neither she nor the handgun have had another failure in the past decade.
Even with her tiny child hands, she could shoot that gun well, as could her older brother. She prefers her classy mid-80s S&W 38SPL revolver, though, because “it has a large amount of cool.” That revolver used to be mine, before I let her shoot it.

Kids can learn to shoot well.
