Knoxville Mayor Bans Guns. I’m guessing a lawsuit would be pretty easy

Knoxville Mayor Rogero has, likely unlawfully, banned guns at the TVA fair. In Tennessee, it is unlawful for municipalities to ban lawful carry in parks. The legal unreasoning is that Chilhowee Park, despite having the word “park” in its name, is an “entertainment and public assembly” facility to which the law doesn’t apply.

So, open carry at the fair and profit?

The agriculture secretary of NC did the same thing.

    He got away with it.

    Be careful.

The Mayor should have to pay the legal costs out of his own pocket.

Let us know how this turns out for you. Nashville
just elected a Marie Harf bobble head doll and
we need to know how to deal with her. We just became
a sanctuary city. I thought Dean was bad.

Tough way to make a buck. Smacks of “activism” too.

Make him get a court definition and then sue his ass if he doesn’t abide. That adult approach has been working great; why throw in with BLM and MAIG?

Well it is pretty simple, if the land is owned by the City, and has Park in the name, then it is a park.

Tennessee mayors take an oath to the State Constitution and the people of this State Have a DECLARED right to carry arms for their self defense according to Article I, Section 26. Therefore they have NO power to deny that right nor any other declared right. It’s absurd that an attempt to do so doesn’t result in a fine or jail time.

He’s got the Governor behind him, too. All this “confusion” is just going to lead the legislature to expand places they can’t ban guns. If you declare a swingset is a civic center just so you can say a law doesn’t apply, then we’ll just make the law apply to civic centers, too

  8. Ron W Says:

The issue is where are the places where the Bill of Rights or Tennessee Declaration of Rights mat be violated or denied by the government?

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
