Well, Mr. President, speaking for myself, I’d much rather buy a gun than buy YOUR books. But perhaps that’s not quite what you meant.

Since the rights to each item are protected by the Constitution, it SHOULD be as easy to buy one as the other.

Also you can download a book and read it immediately. You can download the plans for a gun in some cases, but not a working gun. No one that I know of has a license to sell books, nor does background checks on purchasers. We do not have a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Books. Cops won’t stop you for questioning if you’re carrying a book, unless the book looks like a gun. People won’t call the cops if they see you open-carrying a book, unless, maybe, the book has a barrel, pistol grip and trigger. Progressives don’t make blanket insults of book owners, or book clubs.

Of course, if they successfully ban guns… Books will be banned next. Then again, some places have already banned some books. God forbid certain ideals are promoted. Free thought and all. 😉
