Accountability, not for ATF agents

In the private sector, this would get you fired. But government:

Imagine if you will that you worked for a large company and were issued both a company car and company-provided credit card. Then imagine what would happen if you decided to use that company car to drive to a casino, to use that company-provided credit card to get a cash advance to buy chips, and you did it all on company time.

You would likely be fired and perhaps even prosecuted for stealing from your employer. Or, at least, that is how it should work in the real world.

However, if you were a BATFE Special Agent and you did this, then you just might get promoted to Special Agent in Charge of a Field Division and move into the Senior Executive Service

But you don’t need a gun at church

Unless you do

Are machine guns really that hard to control?

Gun control: what you do instead of something

Do we lack the political will to do something about inner city violence? Probably. It doesn’t fit the narrative.

We must do something. This is something. So it must be done.

That’s the usual we expect from calls for gun control. Only this time, Obama kind of left that middle part out.

Hyperbole much?

The Daily Star brings the hysteria:

The elite troops will also be equipped with a new arsenal of deadly weapons, tried and tested by the US special forces.

Special soft-nose bullets designed to drop Jihadis on the spot will be issued to the crack force in the next few weeks.

The bullets, described as the most lethal ever made, are manufactured by a Swiss arms company which makes ammunition for the special forces.

One of bullets hyper-expands and has a devastating effect on a human body by causing a massive hole and almost instant death.

Yeah they’re getting subsonic hollow points.

The generation where everybody gets a trophy

Firefighter who flunked physical requirement for job but got the job anyway:

Probationary firefighter Choeurlyne Doirin-Holder injured herself Monday while conducting a routine check of equipment at Queens Engine 308 in South Richmond Hill. Getting off the truck, Doirin-Holder missed a step and landed on her left foot, suffering a fracture, sources said.

It was her second shift after a transfer from Engine 301. In training for a hazmat assignment, officers found her struggling to perform the required tasks.

Firefighters called the tripping incident embarrassing and alarming.

If youre going to get hurt in the firehouse checking a rig, what would happen at a fire? an insider asked.

Happy Thanksgiving

To you and yours. And, some good news:

Rounding out the list of pro-gun provisions is section 1087, which restores authorization to the Secretary of Defense to transfer to the Civilian Marksmanship Program surplus M1911 and M1911A1 .45 ACP pistols for sale to the public. The component of the CMP that dispenses the pistols would be required to obtain a federal firearms license and abide by all requirements of the Gun Control Act pertaining to licensed sales and transfers. Currently, the military has some 100,000 such pistols that it no longer needs and that are being stored as taxpayer expense. These historically-significant firearms can now be transferred to law-abiding owners at a net gain to the governments heavily-indebted balance sheet.

The terror database and gun rights

So much for innocent-til-proven-guilty:

Believe this: Once gun-control enthusiasts are able to deny otherwise legal firearms purchases to suspects of terror whose names are on a deeply secret list with little recourse for removal, mischief is sure to follow. Definitions of terroristic activity will expand, followed closely by the number of names among the suspicious.

How to keep your 1911 running:

Well played.

Bleg: Enders Royal Service shotgun

My dad gave me a doubled barreled 12ga, it’s an Enders Royal Service. Read on the intertubes that one shouldn’t shoot modern ammunition through it. Read elsewhere that only applies to 3 inch shells. Any of you know?

Another white hispanic?

White supremacists shoot people at black lives matter event. But, you know, there’s this:

By Tuesday afternoon, police said they had arrested a 32-year-old Hispanic man in South Minneapolis and a 23-year-old white man in nearby Bloomington. The suspects were not identified and no other details were released.

My guess, based on recent events, is that there’s more to the story than the narrative is telling us. Looks like, through the media’s weasel words, there was some sort of confrontation prior to the shooting:

Around 25 of the protesters started “escorting” the three people away from the area when there was a “conflict between the two groups,” Wronski-Riley said.

Most of the protesters broke off but around four of them kept on up the street to ensure the three men would not come back. Wronski-Riley said that at this point the men “turned around and without warning and started shooting at us … everything was super chaotic.”

We’ll see.
