Well, if you educate children on actual gun safety, there will be less blood to dance in
On a school teaching kids the tried and true “stop, don’t touch, tell an adult”, a bedwetter from Moms Demand You Pay Attention to Them:
Its atrocious to put the onus of gun safety onto children this is an adult problem, Hoppe tells Yahoo Parenting. Every gun thats gotten into the hands of a child has first been under the control of an adult. A program that tries to dodge that is disingenuous.
Jennifer Hoppe is a grade A moron. Sure, maybe the guns have been under the control of an adult but that means fuck all to a kid who happens to come across one.

“Its atrocious to put the onus of gun safety onto children this is an adult problem…”
Uh huh. Which is why they teach kids about kinky sex and condom use, and teach them to live in morbid fear of man-made “Climate Change”, the evils of capitalism and the racist roots of Western Civilization.
Driver’s education would be atrocious too then. Being as so many people die behind the wheel we should prevent kids from learning how to drive safely.
Don’t teach American history or civics either, or math beyond addition and subtraction, because those are “adult problems” too.
For that matter, don’t teach kids anything because they shouldn’t know anything related to “adult problems” until after they become adults.
Knowledge is bad, M’kay?

As a founding member of DDS (“Dads Demand Sandwiches”), I think she should stay in the kitchen where she belongs and stop causing trouble.

“Every (match or lighter) that’s gotten in to the hands of a child has first been under the control of an adult.” They pay me to say pretty much this, and parents & teachers beg me to come in to their schools, because society can prove that it works – for over 70 years now. Everyone loves Smokey Bear.

She may be a moron, but Ms. Hoppe makes some fine gun cleaning products

This is of a piece with the sort of thinking that says “teaching a woman to defend herself is saying that the rapist isn’t responsible for his act”.
Dumbasses all of them.

Eddie Eagle teaches kids not to pick up or use other people’s guns, without adult permission. I think that is simple polite behavior, and should be encouraged.
Moms Against Everything demands kids instead remain in a state of nature, where the biggest and meanest kids can take whatever they want when adults aren’t around.
I think Moms Against members know something about themselves that they don’t want to admit – they never learned polite behavior and can’t be trusted to behave without mandatory supervision. Stupid kids, the lot of them.

Along the lines of “teach men not to rape”, I guess it’s “teach criminals and the moronically irresponsible to never mislay or mis-store a weapon”?
How’s That Gonna Work Out, in either case?
Since other persons exist, and we cannot actually control them with anything less than global mind-control rays [don’t give ’em ideas], we have to accept that people who are around those other people might have to act in ways that reduce or eliminate risks the other people pose.
Most of us call this “the actual world”.

Isn’t it funny how education is an acceptable solution to all other problems of violence against kids… EXCEPT this one?
So we have massive anti-bullying campaigns (aimed at the kids). Kids are taught swimming safety. Kids are taught about the dangers of smoking — when all the cigarettes were first in the hands of adults. Kids are taught about birth control.
But no, we shouldn’t sully their innocent little minds with FACTS when it comes to a certain type of tool that can kill them if handled incorrectly.
If we do no better than teaching our kids to handle guns more safely than Al Gore did, that’s a big step in the right direction…
