Holsters with sweat guards
Todd is not a fan. I can see the appeal to deter sweat and, also, if you have rather pointy rear sights. But does the potential hindrance outweigh the convenience? I dunno. But I’m not quite the shooter Todd is.
Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.

The problem is the generic round shape holster-makers use for convenience. If the guard is shaped to the profile of the gun there’s no impediment to the high grip.
Most guns are pretty well de-horned and sweat-resistant now anyway. I like the guards on my mag pouches though, after-market or older steel mags often have sharp corners.

I am a large guy and I LOVE sweat guards dehorned or not the weapon STILL DIGS. I sorry YOU have no use for them BUT I DO!

I’ve carried a pistol continuously for over 20 years and I’m not sure what a sweat guard is for. Does it supposedly guard the sweat, the gun or the person? The name seems to suggest that it protects the sweat, which is curious. If it’s to protect the gun, well first, who freaking cares if your gun gets a little sweat on it, and second, don’t you have a t-shirt between you and the gun? No? I don’t get it. OK, when it’s over 100 F outside and you don’t have air conditioning maybe you go without a t-shirt. I’ve done it, maybe three days out of the year, just wearing a Hawaiian shirt. I still don’t see a problem that needs solving with holster design. Not one bit. If I was working hard in the fields in 110 degree heat and my gun was getting drenched in sweat such that it posed a problem, I can’t see a sweat guard helping much. Maybe I’d move the gun to some other location.
