ATF involved in day to day busts in NYC

Because gun crime is up:

Now in an unprecedented move, a federal agency is joining the effort to get gun crimes under control, CBS2s Marcia Kramer reported Monday.

Kramer is told it was a collective decision made by the federal government, the NYPD, the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

Those agencies are mounting a first-ever anti-gun initiative in high-crime areas.

Ruger Redhawk .45 Colt & .45 ACP

Right here. This has my interest. When looking at a new gun, I consider the caliber for monetary reasons. I’m pretty heavily invested in four calibers* and the thought of having to invest in another is a factor. My shelf space is at a premium and the cost of getting into another caliber have dissuaded me from buying some guns. Many a times, I’ve found a good deal on something in .40, and I pass.

* 22LR, 9MM, 5.56, and .45ACP if you must know.

Does that include your taxpayer funded security detail?

And speaking of the internet of things

The Bookface wants me to identify myself on my SayUncle facebook page. I’m not inclined to do that so consider it done.

Respect her gender fluidity

So, this woman has been pretending to be black for years. I find the whole thing fascinating. Rather like the Bruce Jenner silliness. Unlike Jenner, whose actions affect basically no one, she actually committed what appears to be fraud. And advanced her career. But it amuses me terribly for some reason.

The internet of things

Blogging sure ain’t what it used to be.

In the last few years, the Al Gore’s internets have sure changed. It’s now, mostly, social media and clickbait bullshit. I’m OK with the former. But the latter rots your brain and, in all likelihood, is where the majority of Americans get their “news”. And it’s perpetuated by social media. Of course, it makes sense now. I mean the local news for years was the TeeVee equivalent of clickbait: Something in your water can kill you. News at 11. Then, you know, you watched it and it turned out not to be true. And that’s pretty much exactly how clickbait bullshit works. Misleading headline and sensationalism. I guess the business model works.

Bloggers are quitting. And slowing down. And quitting and then showing back up. And then check out this guy. All he does is link to shit and doesn’t write anymore. He used to link cool stuff and also write some stuff.

I’m not quitting. But out put will be irregular. And, for the next few days, maybe not at all. Seems my blogging PC won’t charge anymore. Waiting on a part.

Armscor .22 TCM rifles converted to 9mm

Special Interest Arms emails this beauty:

9mmbolty

Yup, that’s a bolt action, suppressed 9mm. Says Richard:

Calling my 9mm conversion the “Novem” (Latin for 9).
These are built from new Armscor 22 TCM rifles.
The conversions are lighter than the originals and 9mm is actually a lower pressure round.

SBR and integral versions pictured, standard 16.5″ as soon as more barrel blanks show up.
Anyone wanting one should email me.

The SBR is for sale once I take a few pics with a silencer fitted, I’m keeping the integral suppressed unit as the shop demo gun – personal toy.
Full details will be up on my site in a couple of days.
An 11″ barrel allows the stock to remain unmodified, shorter means cutting it.

I fit new barrels made on my CNC lathe, then modify the bolt and feed ramp to suit the caliber.
9mm is the standard conversion.
A 1/2-28 thread at the muzzle is standard but may be deleted.
Other threads are available.
I particularly focus on NFA items but these are available with a standard 16″ barrel which requires no special paperwork and should be legal in all states.
Standard magazine capacity is five but the seventeen round pistol magazines are interchangeable.
Basic conversions in the customers choice of barrel length are $750.00.
Integrally suppressed versions will be around $950.00

.40 SW, 10 mm, and .38 Super are the other caliber options.
I decided against 9X23 due the chance of 9X23 Win being used, which would exceed the pressure limit.
Other calibers might be possible but most have no real advantage over the above, pressure is an issue with some.
.40 SW and 10 mm will reduce capacity to four for every five in 9mm.
Guns I have gotten required slight opening of the bolt face as 9mm did not fit.

These are a hoot to shoot and the SBR balance is very fast, almost like a pistol.
Probably THE best suppressor host for the available calibers if action noise is an issue for you.
With reloads fairly heavy bullets are possible, 160 gr. 9mm, 180 gr. .40 or .38 Super.
Even heavier bullets may be possible as the magazine will take a 1.295″ OAL round.

And if anyone wants some new 22 TCM take-off barrels I have several, cheap.
Might be good to have if you want a 22 TCM carbine or shoot a LOT and need a replacement barrel.

Shake up at Remington

And speculation the R51 roll out was to blame.

No more koolaid

Iowa police have returned 800 M&Ps. Based on the article, I can’t tell if it has to do with functionality or the sketchy nature of the contract.

A bill to get rid of that onerous language in federal law. I’d put chance of passing at nil.
