Bill would allow private schools to allow guns on campus. If it’s a private school, they should be allowed to do what they choose.

No bill needed! That is a DECLARED Right of the citizens of this State pursuant to Article I, Section 26 of the Tennessee Constitution’s Declaration of Rights.

You are permitted to do whatever you want on your own property as long we say so? Tell me that ain’t tyranny. And therein lies the problem regarding the “with an eye toward safety” clause. How is it safe to have a child filled Gun Free Kill Zone? that is why the 2a leaves no mistake for interpretation…uh…see above posts…um…I guess stupid is as stupid does then?

Even when they deign to allow an activity, it comes with a requirement. You can’t just take your sign down, you must formulate a policy. Probably have to submit a copy and have it on file with the bureaucracy.

Once again. In Article I, Section 26 the Tennessee Legislature has power for “regulating the WEARING of arms with a view to prevent crime.” The DECLARED right is for keeping and carrying arms for self defense. The State may only regulate how one WEARS what they carry, that is, holstered, concealed, open etc. A right is something one FREELY exercises.
