Republican Debate Blogging
Hey, I know what let’s do. Talk about people who aren’t here. Like Trump and Ron Paul. Good for Cruz for making a joke of Trump.
Kasich is talking update: The crowd is Rand’s. And good for him going after the NSA bulk collection.
update: I’d like to see Carson and Kasich do some kung fu fighting with their awkward arm movements.
update: Cruz: We should limit government. Except we need more military planes, boats and bombs and stuff.
update: Hispanic fight!
Further updates in comments. It’s just easier.

Rand did well…without Trump there for him to attack. That tact never elevated him. But last night he made great succinct statements and appeared as the only adult in the room.

What debate?

Pretty much the consensus is that neither the biggest winner or biggest loser was actually on the stage:
Winner: Trump of course. Largely because many share Lyle’s question, nobody watched. But also because he controlled the narrative from afar and avoided direct attack…brilliant tactical move.
Loser: Fox. From Megyn’s opening addressing “the elephant not in the room” to the idiot brass and their childish press release to the fact they could have contributed $5M to vets and gotten back way more than that in viewership and had a debate that included the primary subject of it. Pathetic. And you can bet they know it and that there will be fallout.
As for “the others”? Cruz continues to run his mouth too much and prove he’s not ready for the top slot. Jeb was his usual confused misdirected self. Christie too was his usual big mouth self in an empty XXXXL suit. Biggest disappointment was Rubio; he’s a talented speaker with tons of the requisite charisma and presence, unfortunately he never got a foothold or had anything memorable to say. And Rand. A guy whose little l credentials I admire but who has absolutely no grasp of the big picture…did he really use the thuggery and bussed-in racist agitators and rioters to make a point about institutional racism? Damn, boy.

Crap, forgot Carson…understandable I guess. It appears he may have prescribed himself an extra dose of ‘ludes. But I still like him, there’s a place for him in a conservative cabinet; stick to what you know.

Sounds fair to me.
I mean, it’s an enumerated power, and one of the few things libertarians agree is also a proper power of the State (except the anarchists, but who cares what they think?).
