The left never does this shit just because someone mentions something uncomfortable about The Juice. Their people can say whatever they want, and it goes away. This story only has legs on our side.
Cut it out with the red on red bullshit. If they aren’t going to play by the rules we are FOOLS for continuing to. They never pay a price for it, it’s time for us to stop making our people pay for it either.
NO MORE RED ON RED. When the actual Israel haters are out of power, then we can prune things back on our side.
Phelps – wrong is wrong. This is why we are winning the gun debate, we’re right and it shows. We can’t defeat our enemy by becoming them.
If Uncle Ted is racists/religionist he should go. If he is pointing out that they, of all people, should know better then, his message was not well communicated but (for me) he lives to fight another day.
If anyone just now started finding Nugent distasteful because of this, they’re as clueless as any hippie they mock.
The Nuge has been a net negative for our cause for years. The only people who like him are people who are gonna love them some guns no matter what musician’s pimping them.
Seriously, Phelps, you think people are going to suddenly turn antigun because the mean ol’ gun nuts told Ted to go play in traffic? Look me in the eye and tell me that makes any sense.
“The NRA forced the Nuge off the board! That’s it! I’m sellin’ all my guns and votin’ Democrat!”
Seriously, Tam, do you think people are suddenly going to turn pro-rights because the dumbass fudds told Ted he couldn’t bring in tons of money to the NRA anymore? Look me in the eye and tell me that makes any sense.
“The NRA kicked the Nuge off the board! I’m sold! Give me a lifetime membership and a Glock!”
“Seriously, Tam, do you think people are suddenly going to turn pro-rights because the dumbass fudds told Ted he couldn’t bring in tons of money to the NRA anymore?”
Do you really think that’s my motivation? You fucking moral cripple. I honestly feel pity for you.
Do you really think that’s my motivation? You fucking moral cripple. I honestly feel pity for you.
No, I think that your motivation is that you think that there is some Higher Purpose in being “right”. I think that makes you a moral cripple. Being “right” is a luxury that you can afford when your rights are safe. You are going to “morally upright” yourself into an early grave — and you are going to take a lot of otherwise loyal patriots with you before you go.
The goody-goody shit is how we lost so many rights already.
I do not see this as any different bkack lives matter (that means only black lives matter, right?), white privilege (all whites gave this, even poor whites in non white areas), all republicans are anti bkack, anti woman, anti immigrant. All businesses are anti worker etc etc.
If this is wrong, what will the left have to ralk about this election cycle.
I found it interesting, not hateful. They had to be anti gun first, not jewish first to get on the meme. Its interesting that any jew can be anti gun.
But then tons of American jews support anti israel leaders as well.
Ted does not hate jews. I assure you.
Its almost impossible to be in entertainment and not work with, and pay a half dozen jewish people every day.
I like the tone of that Zellman site, and I especially like the closing line of their “about” blurb:
“We will keep a close eye on both the enemies of our rights and the compromising “friends” of the Second Amendment who try to sell us out while pretending to be allies.”
To which I responded in comments there:
“Sounds good. And in keeping with the gist of the post I’ve got two words for you: “Bloomberg” as to the former, and “Sanders” as to the latter.”
As far as Nugent, I’m reluctant to criticize any “celeb” on our side, God knows they’re rare enough, but I filed Ted in the “not helping” category several years ago when he was proposing some kind of reality teevee show featuring people hunting people in the woods for fun. Not funny, not entertaining, and definitely not helping.
Is he lying about any of those people? No. Can he be over the top? Yes. Dumping all the NRA’s problems at the feet of Ted is giving him too much credit. Bagging on the Nuge for telling the unpleasant non PC truth seems somewhat hypocritical.
Phelps, I agree with Jake and Tam. What’s more, I have several adult children who agree with Jake and Tam, and they are raising children of their own. Demography is destiny, and all that.
No one is stopping you from doing whatever you think is best, Phelps.
We’re free to disagree with you, though, and should you do something stupid, disavow you publicly.
Not when we suspect you’re “impure”, when you publicly prove yourself to be, at best, an idiot, and, at worst, a prejudiced jackass on top of the idiocy.
Your premise assumes Ted is a net positive to the gun rights movement. That is false, as no one is pro-rights because Ted told them to be (and if they are, they are an idol-worshiping moron as well).
Conversely, every time we talk about gun rights with undecided people, not anti-gunners, the undecided we need neutral or mildly in support of us to win politically, we now have to explain Ted.
Even if it’s all just “Ted being Ted,” he sucks the air out of what can be productive conversations and wastes valuable time and energy that should be used making intelligent arguments to people who actually care about morality, that is, most of middle America. That makes him a net negative, he needs to go.

That makes him a net negative, he needs to go.
No one is swayed on either side by reason. You rationalize your emotional choice after the fact.
The fact is that Nuge is an identity leader. He’s Celebrity Rock Star. If you are one of the millions and millions of Americans who likes rock and likes celebrities, then you need someone like Ted around, because otherwise all of the Rock Star Celebrity figures are for gun control. Ted gives them something to hang their hat on to say, “ah, it’s OK for me to be for gun rights because Nuge is for them” even if they aren’t smart enough to vocalize it.
We are losing the culture war. In the culture war, your reason isn’t just useless — it’s worse than useless because when you come in spouting reason, you look like a fanatic and James Hetfield (now a full blown lefty) says, “don’t listen to that square, get on the banning wagon with me.” And Hetfield is going to win because your shit is fucked up and you talk like a fag.
We need the Nuge. We need more people like the Nuge. I’m sorry that you have to come to the realization that in the culture war, Nuge is a 100 megaton ICBM and you’re a small, dull penknife.
Nuge regularly sells out 2000 seat venues. That’s power.
Uncle gives me a lot of traffic, and I appreciate it. The thing is, it really doesn’t compare, post to post, to what I get from an Instalanche. They are night and day.
The harsh reality, though, is that I got more hits in three days from having one of my posts read on a local Dallas radio show than I have from all my normal traffic, all the SU links (and there are a lot) and the four Instalanches I’ve had. My blog is over 10 years old, and one radio host reading a post doubled my hit counts (and that is still true 4 years later)
We’re not important here. Nothing we do on the internet compares to the amount of people a half-wit radio personality can reach. That is where the Nuge is operating at. We are not helping by shoving him out of the community.
Learn some humility. Appreciate the scale. We’re candles in the night, and when it’s dark, I appreciate the candle. Nuge is a 1 million candlepower lighthouse.
Ted sells out 2,000 seat arenas to the same people he has been selling the same 2,000 seats to for 40 years. They are not young people, or women, or minorities, the people we need to become gun owners to win demographically, just aging baby boomers like Ted and, maybe, their already on our side aging kids.
He’s a dim light in a small and shrinking pond. If he’s off the Board the number of people who might quit the NRA in protest is likely to be infinitesimal but the clarity not having to explain his nonsense distractions to the undecided will be immense.
Nobody but us an hard core grabbers even notices what Nuge is doing. We are cutting off our nose to make people who hate us and will still hate us after we are done happy — except that they won’t be happy, and will start demanding ears and fingers, to “prove” that we’re not the evil that they are.
Nobody but us an hard core grabbers even notices what Nuge is doing
(In the context of this fight, not the overall war. This is the smallest of smallball. Unless we fuck up and kick him off the board, which makes it a Big Deal.)

I’ve been waiting for many years for the 2A movement to realize that Mr. Nugent hurts our cause and does not help our cause.
February 9th, 2016 at 6:22 pm
I don’t really see the antisemitism there. I think if anything, it’s pointing out that they oughtta know better.
I wonder how many of them side with Palestine, too?
Before they are anything else…they are liberals. That’s how liberals are.

He has become a caricature of himself…which is not helpful. Terry Bradshaw has the same problem.

Wrong is not wrong. Wrong is only wrong when it helps the left.
He reposted a stupid meme. We’re issuing the death penalty over that, because we are stupid and easily led to defeat ourselves.

Yeah, that’s totally plausible.

Hey Phelps
So the left doesn’t do BLUE on BLUE? What about Patton Oswalt begin eviscerated a couple years ago over some tweets?
What about Gloria Steinum recently criticizing college girls who support Bernie Sanders over Hillary Clinton?
I highly doubt you’ve ever developed the skills to critically examine the empty space between your ears.
February 10th, 2016 at 11:30 am
Right, and which boards of major left groups do Patton Oswalt and college girls sit on again?
February 10th, 2016 at 2:25 pm
And you’re calling us stupid?
Tam was being generous. You’re not a moral cripple, you’re an amoral fanatic with delusions of righteousness.
February 10th, 2016 at 2:29 pm
And you are an cultural dead end.

“And you are an cultural dead end.”
Phelps, I agree with Jake and Tam. What’s more, I have several adult children who agree with Jake and Tam, and they are raising children of their own. Demography is destiny, and all that.

February 10th, 2016 at 5:55 pm
You and all those kids who follow your “principles” right into chains.
February 10th, 2016 at 5:57 pm
The Amish have lots of kids, too. Look at how well that has done for them in the cultural war.
February 10th, 2016 at 7:52 pm

You are not only a fair-weather friend, you are one that will turn your back on your allies

Don’t worry Phelps. There are those of here who do not think you are wrong. These people are over-reacting, virtue signaling, truth apologists.
