Yep – I got the alert.
2575 is the only one I don’t like. They should lower the cost only (to zero, but different discussion).
“Permits will be issued on a three to seven year cycle, based on the applicant’s age, and will expire on a birthday that is divisible by five.”
If you’re stupid like me you can ignore this statement, from the Dept. of Safety, and look at your TN driver license. The Dept. of Safety will line up your HG expiration with your DL expiration but if your DL expires in less than 2 years they will give you an HG permit that will line up with the expiry of your (next) renewed DL, aka 6 or 7 years from now.
As complicated as this seems it’s better for them and you. Cheaper to maintain and Both permits will be aligned thus easy-peasy for all renewals.
They should allow this alignment to continue but lower the cost. Or they could have just passed the Constitutional Carry bill.
I’m a math geek, but that gives me a headache. They must have had an accountant in on it. We don’t have constitutional yet, but we have a lifetime, and it’s easy to remember when to renew that.
