Again, let me point out the legislature passed this law (allowing CHL holders to open carry handguns) in large part because malicious prosecutions of “brandishing” were pursued by DAs in Houston, when a concealed handgun was detected on legal carriers by imprinting through clothes or momentary exposures of holstered weapons under jackets.
I have seen zero open carried handguns since January 01, and while a few banks and stores have blocked open carry of handguns by putting up “30.07” signs, none of the places doing this have added any new “30.06” signs forbidding concealed carry.
So yes, a great big nothing. Next will be open carry on state university campuses, Aug 01, when again nothing will happen.
