The Trumpening
So, Donald Trump displayed a bunch of steaks, vodka, wine and other such items from failed businesses that bore his name. The press marveled out how he was marketing his wares. Except most of those items are no longer for sale because the companies went out of business. Go ahead and try to buy some of the steaks.

I don’t really understand this attacking Trump because some of his business ventures failed. They show he’s a trier. Not to mention many business ventures fail for every success.
I guess more horrifically for the government types is the now shutdown businesses show Trump knows how to kill a program that isn’t accomplishing its purpose.

Is a single thing this guy says true?
And the rubes think he’ll actually build the wall. LOL.

JK, he inherited $200M back in the 70s. Most of that was NY real estate at its bottom, so any idiot coulda sat on that and become a billionaire. A book was published a few years back stating he was only worth $150M. Trump sued, and lost.
Basically, he inherited daddy’s money and has squandered most of it. He’s simply not good at business. At all.

He’s a fucking grifter. He was always a media hound in the NY-DC media market when I was growing up. He was always there, trying to sell the public on some bullshit scheme of his or another. You won’t like what you buy. Trust me on this.

Such obedient little GOPes here.
And what rhymes with gope?
Dope, rope, nope, pope…all appropriate for the establishment rank and file. Can’t think of any good things that go with it.
March 10th, 2016 at 11:04 am
Once there was hope but we know what happened to that.
Can’t cope, might as well mope.

If you mention Trump, pawnborker, the broken record, will appear. He forgot his trump/cruz plug. Ugh.
March 10th, 2016 at 11:43 am
JTC- nope, actually Trump is the establishment.
March 10th, 2016 at 12:10 pm
Nothing about Trump or Cruz or the GOP matters this election cycle, as Hillary has the critical Ohio & Florida precincts covered with her own people, who will ensure her victory.
I have $100 bet that by one route or another (I’m thinking actually by cheating, as necessary) Hillary will win the presidency, because nobody else running has been as corrupt nor put in eight years of preparation for stealing this election. No Republican can overcome the amount of potential fraudulent and stolen votes available to Hillary.
Take that, GOP, and think about it.

#3, that is amazing! Who gave him the money because his father didn’t die until 1999.
Wow, such truthiness.
March 10th, 2016 at 3:11 pm
Michael,
True, he has shown no talent for making millions while drawing a government salary like so many others.
But, I’m just saying, Trump has tried and sometimes failed. That is a trait to celebrate, not denigrate. But then most of those denigrating are people who have never put their own money on the line. Never tried to use their own productive capital to make wealth on for their own account.
Trump may be a horrible President, but unlikely that much worse than the current viable candidates. But he didn’t get along in life by using his public office to enrich himself. That beats the Democrats in this race. Maybe Ted Cruz will step up, but so far he hasn’t run a campaign that looks like it could beat an unnamed Democrat.

“actually, Trump is the establishment.”
Well dang, Mac, Mits, Rubes, and the list of sellouts at the National Review must have missed that memo.
Hey thanks for catching the oversight jizm, I mean jason.
Trump/Cruz ’16
Cruz/? ’20-’24

JK Brown; He wasn’t attacked for having businesses that failed so much as he was attacked for lying and exagerating about them. Big difference. I can respect someone who’s a “trier” (some of the most successful people have failed more than than others) but a person should be able to tell it like it is when things don’t go well.
I have nothing against him for inheriting some wealth. We’d all like to do that ourselves, I’m guessing. It’s how you live your life that matters, and he’s been in bed, so to speak, with Progressives, authoritarians, and other various hucksters all his life.
March 10th, 2016 at 9:54 pm
NJMike,
Trump was made president of his father’s company in 1974.
March 10th, 2016 at 10:00 pm
JK Brown,
“no talent for making millions while drawing a government salary like so many others.”
But that describes Trump more than anyone else in the race. In the NY housing market, you don’t do anything without being in bed with the gov’t. Huge amounts of his real estate “investments” have been done on the back of taxpayers (through targeted tax grants) on the backs of renters (through rent control and zoning), or on the backs of property owners (via Emminent domain).
I have no respect for someone whose only “business” experience involves politics, and not free markets. He is a statist, and in no way is a conservative.

You forgot the sanctimonious reference to your “Christianity” with your low class insult, pawnbroker. You god damned scum bag.
March 11th, 2016 at 3:03 pm
“sanctimonious reference to “Christianity”…”
Cites? No? Didn’t think so. But here’s one: God doesn’t damn his good chillun’.
And low class scum bags is as low class scum bags does.

Jason,
It is shocking to me the degree to which the Trumpkins ignore actual, you know, policy. They are quick to shout “Establishment”, deman a wall, and are vaguely familiar with something called the “gang of 8”. But, on policy, they are as vapid as their dear leader.
If he gets the nod, I’ll actually vote Libertarian at the top of the ticket this year. No way in hell that loudmouth lefty is getting my vote.
March 11th, 2016 at 4:43 pm
Yeah, I’m mostly just trolling pawnbroker. While he likes to act like some grand sage, he’s really just one of the many common trolls that make the internet worse. It’s not surprising that he’s had his head up Trump’s ass.
March 11th, 2016 at 7:48 pm
While Trumps steaks were going out of business Cruz was voting to fast track Obama trade which will certainly result in Americans losing their jobs. Not much unlike Cruz’s amendments he wanted to add to the amnesty bill he tried to help pass, I would rather Trump have one or five businesses fail then to have had Cruz’s bill pass…
