Come and take them
John Niven wants to take your guns. Well, he wants other people with guns to do it.

IIRC, the last time the last time the Brits tried to take our guns, it went badly for them.

I’m an adult and can eat a big bowl of ice cream for breakfast if I want. Right now I want the British to know I think they are a bunch of wimps who grow their opinions in the fields watered with American blood.

If he hates us so much, and if our gun ownership is, on balance, killing us, then shouldn’t he encourage us to get more guns?
Or is it that he loves Americans deeply and therefore wishes, in his mistaken beliefs about guns and statistics, to protect us, the Americans he loves so dearly? The tone of the piece would suggest that he hates us, and is therefore contradicting himself.
Something is wrong, too, if he’s showing zero deaths by terrorism for several years. I guess he flipped incidents like Fort Hood from terrorism over into the gun deaths category. If a terrorist uses a gun it’s the gun’s fault anyway.
Doesn’t that terrorism stat line look an awful lot like a….hockey stick?
If he regards American deaths by terror to be so close to zero as to be placed on the zero line on the graph to make his point, then is he saying that more terrorism deaths would, at some unspecified, higher death rate, justify us owning guns, you know, if it were high enough? Why else bring up the subject of terrorism deaths?
Ah, so we have to prove our “need” for guns by letting ourselves get killed first. By defending ourselves then, by not allowing more Americans to be killed we are….proving that we don’t need guns. I’m beginning to understand.
Hey, this is fun; so if you get killed, THEN you have the right to get a gun, and if you’re alive you’ve thereby forfeited any possible right to own a gun.
Let’s see now. In short then; If you’re alive, that proves, ipso facto, that you….obviously don’t need a gun. If you’re dead, that proves, ipso facto, that you might have some argument to the effect that you may need a gun, and so you can then have a gun….if you like. Maybe.
Splendid! I’ve got it!

These comments are from a person whose country asked Americans to send them guns to defend it. Learned nothing from the experience and promptly confiscated all of the weapons and destroyed them after the war. Next time the ask the can go to hell.

Nonsense!
“Nobody wants to take your guns.”
I am assured this is true, repeatedly.

Sigivald, even when Obama and Clinton have praised Australian-style gun confiscations, they say “nobody wants to take your guns”. Maybe they consider Obama and Clinton ” nobodies”.
