If you’re too dangerous to own a gun, you should still be in prison. Convicted of the violent crime of securities fraud, the man cannot own a gun lawfully. He’s fighting that.

If you’re too dangerous to own a gun you should not be allowed to vote. Conversely if you’re allowed to vote you should be allowed to own a gun. An up-to-date voter photo ID should be sufficient to purchase a firearm without a NCIS check. Run the NCIS check when one registers to vote. This has the virtue of complicating an attempt to build a gun owner registry since all eligible voters would be on the list whether or not they own a firearm.
