Cool Fire Trainer
Shut up and take my money.
The Cool Fire Trainer:
This is the CoolFire trainer. www.coolfiretrainer.com
This makes your gun kick harder then a 9mm just using a refillable Co2 barrel and recoil spring. The set up is about $400 and one tank of Co2 lasts about 3500 trigger pulls.
It fires a quick pulse laser to show where you hit. Perfect for home training.

This is cool on many levels, the first being actual recoil so you can practice recovering from recoil. Next, practice at home. I do wish the charge lasted longer.
I love my SIRT but this thing has my interest.

B-b-but with every trigger press, you’re contributing to Global Warmening!

Get ’em to send you and Tam one each for T&E and report back. Until then, it’s just a very attractive Another Nice Idea.

It’s too bad there isn’t a CZ75 version.
It’s an interesting concept. But I don’t see it being nearly as useful as a Laserlyte gun, at least not with new shooters. The last thing I want when I’m teaching someone new how to properly line up the sights and pull the trigger is to add recoil into the mix. There’s a reason you start newbies with .22LR.

Can you imagine what would happen if one of your neighbors complained to Officer Friendly about the “noise”, and he opened the door as you were practicing?

I want to say three or four vendors at last year’s NRAAM had something similar. I was very impressed.
That device plus a cheap projector and some free software and you have your own personal virtual shooting simulator.

@Laughingdog – The problem I encountered with the LaserLyte was it does not display the shots until the small “display” button in the lower corner is shot with the laser. That means, first, a student doesn’t get feedback for every shot but only the entire “batch” and, second, has to hit a target smaller than the main bullseye to get that feedback. Short feedback cycles – just like a real gun with real ammo – offer the opportuntity to make shot-to-shot error correction, rather than repeat the error multiple times before correction. I inquired at 2015 NRAAM if there were any plans for LaserLyte to offer an “instant feedback” option and there weren’t, at least at that time.
I called Cool Fire today, and the instructions to turn off the recoil function were use an allen wrench to empty pressure from the cylinder. It will then function the same as a SIRT, and the cylinder can be refilled when one wants the recoil function again. According to the person I spoke with, that entire empty/refill process can be done in less than a minute. I suggested it migh tbe beneficial to consider some sort of switching mechanism for instant off/on.

It looks like a standard paintball tank, which can be filled anywhere. You can even refill it at home off your kegerator tank with the right gear.
That sure beats Soda Stream. Vender lock-in is bullshit.
