Ruled by bureaucracy
We don’t need congress to pass a law. Or the president to sign it. Or any of that democracy stuff. Just unelected and unaccountable bureaucrats to issue 629 pages of regulations as one rule for one pet project. The EPA wants to regulate amateur racing.

What don’t they want to “regulate”?

The problem is, fun. Anything that humans enjoy must be bad, so crush it. This is who they are; “I hate everything including you because I’m a little spineless sissy boy. Since I never got picked for kickball I’m going to ruin your fun. Why do you get to have all the pretty girls and neato toys?”

“Good intentions will always be pleaded for every assumption of authority. It is hardly too strong to say that the Constitution was made to guard the people against the dangers of good intentions. There are men in all ages who mean to govern well, but they mean to govern. They promise to be good masters, but they mean to be masters.” –Daniel Webster, US diplomat, lawyer, orator, & politician (1782 – 1852)

Racing is a redneck flyover thing. ‘Nuff said.
And do you REALLY think Executive Order is not involved? Either way, it’s a perfect example of what EO can do, and is doing, at ATF and other places…
“Regulation without representation”. Sounds kinda familiar, don’t it?

“But wait there’s more”
The long game in this is not so much cars actually involved in competition, but “competition-inspired” parts you might install on a street-legal (new definition, there) vehicle.
The old joke about opening the hood and seeing a sticker “No user-serviceable parts inside”? That’s the new reality. The Mr Bigs are sick of being shown up by you pesky kids and your hot rods. Sumptuary laws.

More and more, it seems the bureaucrats are determined to inflame the citizens to new heights of anti-government positions.
Racers tend to be the most passionate people regarding their areas of interest, that I’ve ever encountered. Even more so than gun owners.

“He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harrass our people, and eat out their substance.”

Certain kinds of racing are also seen as an American Thing. Thus it is that we see football, NASCAR, SUVs and backyard BBQ under attack.

We need a new policy that any agency that tries something like this will lose $100 million from their budget. Employees found infringing the rights of citizens under color of government will be transferred to North Dakota.

Doesn’t the law specifically exempt non-highway vehicles from EPA regulation? Not that it matters…
