So, you set up a hypothetical where abortion is illegal. Then ask if those who engage in said illegal activity should answer to the law. The answer would clearly be yes, if you were a law and order guy.

The correct answer is;
Look; I know you’re a Democrat Party operative posing as a journalist. I get that, OK? I understand you have an obligation to come up with ways to pigeon-hole me into giving you juicy sound bites, but really; quit being be a fuck-face. There’s your sound bite.
“Now if you can play that dumbshit game so can I. So; if guns were outlawed, would you support door-to-door confiscations by armed storm troopers including U.S. Military? You can’t dodge the question. How do you like that? We can play this shit all day. I don’t give a fuck. Or would you rather talk about something important? Your choice.”
However, Trump, like all Republicans, was utterly blind-sided by the question, and he stepped in the same old flaming bag of poo that every Republican steps into every time it’s tried. This happens over and over and over and over, we try to explain it to them, we try to warn them, and it just keeps fucking happening. They’ll never learn. Apparently they do it on purpose.

Were the tables reversed, and someone actually asked Hillary a followup question about any of her rather shady but very real, not hypothetical, issues, I think the soundbite would be a cackle from her and the grunt of the journalist catching a shiv in the kidney.

I’ve wondered for some time what goes on in the minds of non-leftist politicians that makes them answer those sort of questions as if they were real questions. I’ve reached the point that if an office seeker isn’t smart enough to figure out they’re being set up by the enemy and respond appropriately they’re probably not smart enough to perform well in the office they’re seeking.
Which, unfortunately, as Lyle points out, seems to be every damn one of them.

What does an LIV Republican voter get out of this:
1) Trump is against abortion, which is even more unpopular than him and gun control
2) Cruz and Kasich rushed to say the exact same thing about it that Hillary and Bernie did.
Identity beats reason for votes. That means that the identities here are

Abortion not bad: Cruz, Hillary, Kasich, Bernie
