Those laws you refuse to repeal left your family members defenseless when murderers came to their schools. Why do you want more innocent children to die?
Arm responsible teachers and school workers before a Beslan occurs here.
Amazing how a hastily passed law can take years to decades of effort and tens to hundreds of millions of dollars to repeal, if ever that is accomplished. And all the while these badly written, ill-conceived laws remain in force, they move the goalposts of acceptable laws closer, ever closer, to a state of pure tyranny.
Maybe the pro-rights groups should do what the anti-rights bigots do, and have at the ready some badly written, ill-conceived laws that get pulled out every time there is a crisis, an opportunity, or even a day when some legislators are out of town. Passing a few “horrible” laws in favor of gun rights that will take the opposition decades to repeal and millions to fight might be the way to go, legislatively.
The GOA was bemoaning the lack of citizen support for the bills when they come up in the various committees.
OTOH we all know by now that the only citizen support for this sort of thing that’s going to matter is at the polls this November. The Donks in the house will vote in lock step to “preserve the gains of the revolution” as the Sandinistas used to say, since word has it that they’ve been threatened with a well-funded primary challenge by an unnamed person with a lot of funding if they don’t.

Dear Tom and Jane,

The “high capacity” magazine laws are being widely ignored in the state. County sheriffs have stated that they will not enforce it.
