Well, if every government entity is to have its own SWAT team I guess we’re on the right track.

Well, I’m a State .gov, not a fed but up here there is no state policy on carrying at work. To not allow carry in a State building requires them to have full access control on that building (guards, inspect people coming in, exc.) so I’ve only seen that at Court Houses.

Although against the rules, several years ago I carried a small pepper-spray dispenser into my job with the Federal government. One of the men in my office had history of punching co-workers, and he had started mumbling that I was “out to get him”. I wanted to be able to disable him long enough to get away if decided to “get me first”.
Management took no action until he sent a threatening letter to the director – *then* they finally fired him. Out best guess was that he was related to some Congressman who had control over our budget…
