Many of Bernie’s supporters are young and, in their ignorance, don’t realize that his proposals are very regressive back to the popular socialist views that some had back in the 30’s and 40’s when they thought Joseph Stalin was a great guy . I guess they liked that he was a “social justice warrior” who mass murdered tens of millions to get the revolution done. No wonder Bernie is preaching free college because today’s education obviously keeps them dumb downed to what he and they now call “progressive”.
I like making this argument to well-off liberals who say they don’t mind higher tax rates. You know you can give the IRS more money- they won’t mind. Declare false income, make extra quarterly payments, etc. Don’t worry, they are only after “cheats” who are trying to keep their money. Or, like this article said, just don’t itemize deductions. It’s you’re choice. It’s makes your taxes a hell of a lot easier too (unless perhaps distributing your wealth to CPAs is part of your plan). And why even make charitable contributions, let alone deduct them? I thought you believe government is the best means to serve the poor? Hell, the Clintons started their own private charity because they believed a capitalist model serves the poor better than government.

You will note that all of his proposals are just a bit more than what he makes.
