On those guns the TSA found
So, only 40% of people keep a round in the chamber?
Small sample size, obviously.

No, 60% are worried about turbulence dislodging their gun from the overhead compartment. Safety first!

It is a small sample size and if they’re so unaware as to not remember they have a pistol in their carry on; maybe its for the best they don’t carry with a round chambered.

IIRC, uscca published a article by a evidence tech (now gone) finding less than 50% of weapons sized by police are in working order, or even loaded with correct ammo. Don’t remember a mention of the pipe.

IIRC, the last public results of actual tests of TSA screeners showed a 97% failure rate to find guns & knives in carryons. So if 73 guns were found in one week, about 2,369 guns made it onto planes that week undetected.
Small sample size is correct. I suspect if all 2442 or so guns taken onto planes that week were looked at, the ratio of loaded to unloaded would change.
