Sudden Jihad Syndrome
A democrat walks into a gay bar and kills 50 people. He disregarded the fact it was a gun free zone.
He declared his allegiance to ISIS and had previously been investigated by the FBI.
He was also a licensed security guard. Who, no doubt, passed background checks.
But one more gun law ought to do it.
What she said.

The law doesn’t matter to these types, and that goes double if it’s a false flag operation.

I wonder if he used his work gun?

@Fred: The press is misreporting this. He had a Statewide Firearms License. This license is commonly called a ‘G’ license. It is the license for armed security guards. He worked for a company called G4S, formerly known as Wackenhut Security.

I’m just going to say this once. I believe the reason so many were killed was that the police waited so long before moving in. I heard the question brought up just a couple of times this morning while watching the news and then – nothing.
Let me get this straight – you get a call on an active shooter and show up with a team of 100+ SWAT officers all decked out in body armor and tanks and shit that your asset forfeiture laws have paid for and you can’t go in after the guy until three freaking hours after the first shots???? What were they afraid of? Getting hurt? More people dying? Getting sued? Meanwhile he is in there killing people.
You took a job that you know involves physical violence and possible injury and death to the point where you’re happy to be seen wearing all the latest tactical gear and weaponry and you are unarmed because you don’t have the balls to walk in and try to take out one guy with one trigger finger. You have 100+ trigger fingers. At that point you’re just wearing taxpayer funded toys and you are poser and your SWAT team needs to be totally defunded and disarmed until you find some men who can walk in armed with commitment.
Three hours is chicken shit. People were being killed in those three hours.

“Three hours is chicken shit. People were being killed in those three hours.”
Hell yes! I’m a retired Fireman and if we’d waited 3 hours for no justifiable reason before conducting a rescue operation, we’d have been raked over the coals big time and rightfully so.
Cops are brave only when they’re the only ones who’re armed. They’re pussies.

Thanks Glen. Why don’t say it one more time here;

And if you don’t want to I will, with your permission, removing your name of course. OK?

Most Law Enforcement Agencies have moved away from the wait for SWAT template and use an active shooter based reaction. I wonder if this was an upper-management decision from the jumpstreet.
Huck, Not all cops are pussies, just like not all firemen get paid to sleep and eat chili. Don’t be a dick.

I live in the Orlando area. The reason they waited to enter, according to local press reports, is that the shooter claimed to have 30 hostages and a suicide vest. They were afraid that entering the building would cause him to detonate his device.

I’ve not heard the answer to a really important question.
Was the shooter on the “No Fly” list? Because obviously that is the solution to all of our problems like the Democrats said.
Wait, the No Fly list isn’t magical and it is ineptly managed? You don’t say! This is my shocked face.
June 13th, 2016 at 12:36 pm
@Gladorn, no,no, that would’ve been politically-incorrect to profile a Muslim by putting him on the “no fly list”. Such an arbitrary, secret violation of the 5th Amendment “due process of law” is only reserved for certain groups determined to be potential terrorists by DHS.
June 13th, 2016 at 12:42 pm
Well then. We need to ban Democrats from possessing firearms.
June 13th, 2016 at 1:11 pm
Well, there go mine. Now I have to worry about the right wing too?
June 13th, 2016 at 2:48 pm
I’m getting this 2nd hand from retired Orlando are officers: After the initial shooting, the cops engaged him and he retreated into the bathroom. At that point it evolved into a barricade situation and they attempted to talk him out. When that failed they breached the wall and the last firefight happened. The news this morning said the current belief is no one was shot after he barricaded up. That is all subject to change of course.

Mike V. : How dare you wait until initial conjecture and speculation have passed and more facts have been gathered! 😉

Fred,
Feel free. I just like to keep a low profile. This is one of the few places I will comment when the water gets up to my forehead.

Mike V.,
I watched some of the coverage Sunday morning and into the afternoon while waiting for the operatives at NBC to stop creaming their jeans so I could watch the Canadian GP race and heard exactly one statement about why it took three hours. The spokesperson for the cops handed out the “We were waiting to get all of our people in place” pablum. If it WAS a hostage situation, then 1, being war, we need to rethink how we handle hostage situations, and B, there was no logical reason at that point in the game NOT to say it had turned into a hostage situation. If it was just a barricade, then don’t bother talking. You’ve got all the other derp gear, surely you’ve got flashbangs and gas. Stun him, walk in in all your body armor and take him into custody. I still don’t buy it. I still blame the cops or their overlords for the AMOUNT of dead.

“I still don’t buy it. I still blame the cops or their overlords for the AMOUNT of dead.”
Then you are still clearly ignorant of the timeline of events.
