More on the U of TN’s carry rules
More here. Interesting. Faculty must register with the campus police. No student carry. And UT will offer a voluntary training course.

Because faculty have the “right” to self defense, but the students can go ahead and die.
The fact of the matter is however, that if they’re of militia age or ability then they have the right to carry and anyone attempting to deny them that right while they’re on public property is a criminal. Further; it is this very sort of criminal behavior which attracts mass shooters by offering people up as soft targets. If I read the federal code correctly, that can carry a death penalty.

The law allowing campus carry only covers employees and I believe that the law requires them to register with campus pd.

More Tennessee weaksauce. Let’s see how many sessions it takes to get this law to where it should have been from the beginning.

Dear Uncle and Others,
We piss and moan about achieving incremental steps such as going from ‘illegal to carry’ to ‘only faculty may carry.’
Just, keep doing the work (writing letters, voting for pro-freedom candidates, and the other hard stuff) and we will have freedom to own, use, and concealed carry nation-wide, then … The World.
Sincerely, Someone You Know

Former UT student here. I kept my glock in my backpack where it belongs and kept my mouth shut. Wonder how many others did the same thing…
