Bay Area police have (ehem) “lost” 944 guns since 2010.
There. Fixed it. Give them a break though; they have to support their buddies in the drug cartels* somehow, and this is just one way.
*You think I jest? Think a little more; they need each other. The cops (and the whole injustice system)would be cut WAY back in personel and funding if illegal drug trafficking stopped, and the drug cartels would be out of business unless the cops kept the prices high by maintaining a monopoly for law-breakers. Meanwhile, the march of Progressivism would be hit HARD if the “drug war” were to end.
According to the latest laws passed, they have 5 days to report the theft. Have they? I don’t think the law says crap about losing a weapon. So that may be their out.
Move out of CA now!! Let the wetbacks take it back.

Why not turn a quick buck when the only repercussions are a mild chewing out.

Did you notice two groups, San Jose and Oakland, accounted for 708 of the 944 documented losses? Maybe BATTERY should be investigating them.
