All the gun control bills failed to pass in the senate.
Way back, I purchased a handgun. When I got my carry permit, this was the gun that I first carried. And I carried it for a long time. Then, one day, I needed money for graduate school. So, I sold it. And I sold it to my dad. Anyway, I had an AR-15 he wanted so I managed to get it back:
It’s very early Sig Sauer P229 in 9mm. I’ve missed that gun. More notably, I missed those sights.
So, hivemind, what I dot sights do you recommend for M&P pistols that are not XS big dots.
I know this is a common practice in certain shooting events but it probably isn’t too smart:
A reader saw that Wal Mart.
Why are anti-gun activists so violent?
So, a reporter went out to do the “see how easy it is to buy an AR-15” story. And discovered that those gun laws he’s advocating are already there. It gets better because the gun store refused to sell it to him due to his admitted history of alcohol abuse, and a charge for domestic battery involving his wife. I would think the latter would have prevented him the purchase anyway.
The government was alerted to the Orlando shooter and investigated him. Was on a terrorist watch list maintained by the government. And a gun shop reported him as suspicious to the government.
So, at least 3 .gov failures to catch or deter the guy. But it’s the NRA’s fault.
Kevin: If you want a conversation about guns, first learn our language, then we can talk.
Indeed.

A scope mount that lets you fold up Sub2000, that is pretty neat.
McCain proposes the colossally wasteful and stupid idea of destroying surplus 1911s. These could, potentially, be CMP guns and the government could actually make money. Who doesn’t want a gun that may have been carried in a war?

So, Kuntzman, in edition to lying about the guns he shot, also lied about the gun shop and range.
The captain says he’d bet money that the shooter killed more with his handgun than rifle. I tend to agree since the guy spent a decent amount of time making phone calls.
In light of the misguided cries for gun control, I’ve noticed that bulk ammo in popular calibers have surged in price.
A dealer I know told me this morning that he had 265 AR-15s in stock. As of about one o’clock, he had none.
Gun sales surge among lesbians and gays.
AR-15s flying off the shelves.
If the democrats and the media (but I repeat myself) really want fewer guns in America, they should really shut up.
The FBI had said that using the no fly list to limit gun sales was bad because it might tip off a suspect. But Loretta Lynch would rather stop gun sales than give the FBI a chance to do its job.
Joe Manchin: But due process is what’s killing us right now.
You can just fuck right off.
Rethinking “break in periods”. I had a Kel Tec P3AT that a several malfunctions in the first few hundred rounds. But I figured that was because it was a Kel Tec.
More here. Interesting. Faculty must register with the campus police. No student carry. And UT will offer a voluntary training course.
Yes, I’m a wimp. I simpered because my experience with the AR-15 bruised me, body and spirit. But there’s nothing unmanly about reminding my readers that mass murder is much easier to commit with a semi-automatic killing machine than it is with a hammer.
No, there’s something unhuman about having a fear of tools.
Looks like the Philly Inquirer’s reporter committed a straw purchase and violated local ordinances.
She was shocked out how quick and easy it was to buy an AR-15. Maybe, soon, she’ll be shocked at how easy it is to break gun laws?
George Takei, whose 15 minutes are about up, wrote a piece advocating gun control, making factual errors, and warning the NRA not to go messing with the gay community. His assumptions, of course, is that the gay community is universally behind his calls for disarmament. The gun community responded by offering free firearms training to members of the LGBT community.
Also, it bugs me that a man whose government put his family in an internment camp can support gun control.
The University of Tennessee has issued their New Safety Policy about Firearms on Campus. Still a no go at Neyland Stadium.
There was a lot of this at the NRA convention. I couldn’t help but move out of the way many times when people were pointing guns in unsafe directions.
True story: At the NRA convention, I pointed an H&K VP9 right at Tam. At their booth, they had those little retractable cables that keep people from stealing guns. And theirs had a pull weight of about 70lbs. Expecting to pick up something light, and instead grabbed something heavy, I bent my hand and muzzled myself then her.
Like a good populist pouncing on headline news, Trump says he’s going to meet with the NRA about not allowing people on the terrorist watch list, or the no fly list, to buy guns.
The NRA responds with, well, this. They say we shouldn’t sell guns to terrorists but due process protections should be in place. Not certain the stop the sale while being investigated bit is constitutional.
Senator Chris Murphy is filibustering for a gun control bill. Specifically, the “terror watchlist” bill.
The latest: In denying all of Firecleans demands, the judge called their motion a fishing expedition.
Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
